- Bloom Appearance: Features 5–7 cm star-shaped flowers that are waxy and long-lasting. The "Fire" or "Fire Shape" forms are especially prized for their intense, deep pink to red hues and unique elongated petals.
- Fragrance: Renowned for a strong, sweet scent often described as a citrus-rose or fruit cocktail. The scent is most pronounced during the daytime.
- Growth Habit: An epiphytic orchid with large, shiny apple-green leaves that can have a span of up to 10 inches on mature specimens. It is a sequential bloomer, meaning it produces flowers one after another on the same spike over several months; for this reason, spikes should not be cut after flowering as they may re-bloom.
- Light: Requires bright, indirect light (roughly 1,000–1,500 foot-candles). Direct sunlight should be avoided to prevent leaf scorch.
- Temperature: This is a warm-to-hot grower. Ideal daytime temperatures are 70–85°F (21–29°C), and night temperatures should not drop below 60–65°F (16–18°C).
- Watering & Humidity: It prefers high humidity (60–80%) and should never dry out completely. Water when the top layer of the media (often sphagnum moss) feels dry or when roots turn a silvery-white color.
- Fertilization: Feed weakly every 2–3 weeks with a balanced orchid fertilizer diluted to 1/4 strength during periods of active growth.
- 3” pots flowering size and spiking, send in spike when available
