ORIGIN: A Venezuelan epiphyte found on the northern coastal range in fairly low scrubby hills at altitudes of 0 to 500 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, unifoliate, hot to warm growing epiphyte with cylindrical, compressed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, erect, oblong, obtuse, grey green leaf that blooms in the summer or fall on a terminal, short to 4 [to 10 cm], few [3 to 5] flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and subtended by a broad basal spathe that gives rise to strongly fragrant flowers.
